Trauma Lab vs Trauma Panel: Game or Medical Lab?

I searched the bare phrase and landed in hospitals and universities long before the game. This page exists so that mix-up takes one click to leave. I am not giving normal ranges or telling anyone which test to order. The clinical paragraph is a short paraphrase of one children’s-hospital pathway, with the limits written next to it.

Three different things

The game is the anatomy sandbox by Abynotic Studios, free on itch.io, rated in its own words as 18+ with gore, and labeled a fictional simulation rather than medical advice. It is not a training product for clinicians.

A “trauma panel” is not one national package. On the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia pathway for trauma activations, labs are chosen for the case. That page says there is no clear evidence for routine labs, and lists tests used when the patient is unstable: CBC, type and screen, a basic metabolic panel, clotting times, blood gas, liver tests, amylase and lipase, urinalysis, toxicology, and a pregnancy test. CHOP is a pediatric Level 1 and 2 pathway. An adult hospital’s list will differ. Do not treat the list as your hospital’s order set.

University groups that use the words include the MGH Brain Trauma Lab (traumatic brain injury), Columbia’s Loss, Trauma, and Emotion Lab, and UC Irvine’s Trauma and Resilience Lab. traumalab.pl is the Trauma Research Laboratory at the University of Warsaw, a psychology group studying PTSD, and it is not this game either.

Questions

Does the game teach trauma care?

No. The build says it is fiction and not medical advice. For a real injury, use emergency services, not this sandbox.

Is traumalab.pl the same project?

No. That site is a psychology laboratory at the University of Warsaw. The game lives on itch.io.
