The Story-mode popup in the embed pointed at Join the Discord playtest. I did not create an account to read channel rules. I did query Discord’s public invite API for 6BCWDfuMgm, which returned a permanent invite, guild name Trauma Lab, and the description “A simulation a little bit too realistic.”

The invite that is actually in the game

https://discord.gg/6BCWDfuMgm is the code shown in the build. The API said the invite does not expire. At query time there were 2,373 members and 184 online. The popup tells you to use #playtest-signup, and that testers are picked in batches. The $5 Supporter tier lists a Supporter role. Joining does not by itself deliver a Steam key or unlock Story mode.

I did not join the server, so I will not invent a channel list, a rules document, or a moderator name. The only channel the build names is #playtest-signup. The server description returned by the API is “A simulation a little bit too realistic.” If that invite stops resolving, the replacement has to come from a new build or the itch.io page, not from a repost.

Member counts move. If the invite ever changes, the one inside the current itch.io build is the one to trust, not a copy pasted on a random page. I am not pasting a second code.

Questions

Do I get Story mode the moment I join?

No. The popup says testers are selected in batches from #playtest-signup. The free build still shows Story as locked.

Is the invite permanent?

The API field expires_at was null on 23 October 2026. Discord can still revoke a link later.
